Shirtless, chinos and socks, soaking in the front yard prune, rake and sweep. Brief light breeze. Plants in front of me sway with the small bursts. Leftover dead leaves crackle as they scratch the cool moss laden clay bricks beneath me. Soles of my feet cool, damp almost soaks into the cotton. Sun hitting the side of my face, small bite. Long enough and I'll probably burn.
Can feel a slight sweat on my forehead, chest and back along with Manderin peel residue slightly sticky on the tips of my fingers, and the bitter 2 scoop, 1 sugar instant coffee is drying out my mouth. Coffee sweats starting to come in - drops slide down from under my arms.
Willy wag tails calls and flittering somewhere in the hedges ahead. Distant traffic noise from the local main road a few blocks behind me. Dull rumble of an Aeroplane passes by overhead, I look up and notice the clouds streaking across the sky. Next-door neighbour pulls up and i can hear the sand scratch against the concrete driveway as the tyres turn in.
Couple of minutes pass and I notice day time TV playing in the background, drifting through the worn security screen door with a dodgy latch to my left. Heading into winter soon, but feels like early spring.
